The Atheist Delusion MP4

From Living Waters, creators of the award-winning TV program "The Way of the Master" and the hit movies "180" and "Evolution vs. God," comes the powerful film "The Atheist Delusion." Executive produced by TV co-host and best-selling author Ray Comfort ( Hell's Best Kept Secret , Scientific Facts in the Bible ). Having to prove the existence of God to an atheist is like having to prove the existence of the sun, at noon on a clear day. Yet millions are embracing the foolishness of atheism. "The Atheist Delusion" pulls back the curtain and reveals what is going on in the mind of those who deny the obvious. It introduces you to a number of atheists who you will follow as they go where the evidence leads, find a roadblock, and enter into a place of honesty that is rarely seen on film.

10 Surprisingly Simple Tips for Talking with Cult Members - Part 2 - Apologetics Guy

Spiritual Talk at Your Door? Last week, I shared two surprisingly simple tips for talking with cult members: Ask, “How much time do you have” and Pray, pray, pray. But many of these aren’t just for talking with cult members. A lot of it’s great for everyday spiritual conversations with just about anyone. Again, I’m …

Here's my response to this week's challenge:

Yes, Christians Are Hypocrites—If by “Hypocrite” You Mean “Sinner”

Andy Bannister explains that, contrary to Christopher Hitchens’s claim, religion isn’t what poisons everything. The problem is much deeper, more pervasive, and far more personal. The problem is us. We poison everything. And, as it happens, that is precisely why we need Jesus. Far from contradicting Christianity, the existence of...

Christians, You Don't Have to Speak Into Everything

I'm not too sure what to make of this... yes, it's true that some issues are more directly related to Biblical teaching than others... and it's true that we should choose our battles wisely. But I guess I've just never been a fan of the idea that I should not speak my opinion on a matter out of fear that someone who disagrees with me will think I don't have any credibility on more important things. I guess part of it is that my experience has been that those who will dismiss you based on Opinion A will be just as likely you dismiss you based on Opinion B or C, likely cos they're just more dismissive in general. Dancing around things won't change that; you just have to deal with it. People who are more open-minded will still think you credible even if they vehemently disagree (I think of a friend I have where we disagree on nearly every political, social and religious "issue", but we still are good friends and can talk about these things calmly. She also still listens to my opinions - which is how I know there are a few we DO agree on, haha).

5 No Christianity, No Hospitals

This highlights the foolishness of the pro-abortion ideological crusade against Christian professionals and organizations in health care. As we’ve talked about before on BreakPoint, Washington State is already forcing Christian pharmacists (who by the way got no help from the Supreme Court) to choose between their faith and their careers. If states or the federal government attempt to force Christian hospitals to perform abortions, and those hospitals close their doors, the results would be catastrophic.

The Gospel Coalition 2017 National Conference

In this workshop, we'll talk about the Rev. Oscar Pfister, an evangelical Protestant pastor, who was a close associate and friend of Sigmund Freud. Although Freud respected Pfister as both a cleric and a scholar, Pfister focused on points of his agreement with Freud's research and psychoanalysis rather than making much of the faulty presuppositions in Freud's worldview. Most disturbingly, it seems as though this "man of God" whom Freud and his whole family clearly loved, never insisted on the gospel's demands on Freud's life. Not only was Freud never converted, he was lulled into thinking there were powerful areas of overlap between his worldview and Pfister's. The story is a cautionary tale for those who mistake "relational evangelism" and "cultural engagement" for gospel-oriented worldview apologetics predicated on incommensurable presuppositions.

10 America's Extreme Abortion Laws

But it gets even more interesting and relevant to current debates. The study also found that over sixty percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortions, and nearly eight in ten want abortion clinics held to the same standard as other outpatient surgery centers—a rule the U.S. Supreme Court just struck down in Texas. And speaking of the Supreme Court, seventy percent of those surveyed say doctors who perform abortions should be required to have hospital admitting privileges—another Texas requirement declared unconstitutional by the Court. And most remarkably, Americans agree by a margin of 20 percent that religious healthcare providers should not be forced to perform abortions against their deeply-held beliefs.

God Works in Those Who Wait

When Jesus displays his patience, he not only shows us the very patience of his Father, but he does so as fully human. He demonstrates the kind of divine life that can be expressed in our own human flesh. And so the Bible is full of calls to Christ-like patience. The New Testament gives us at least five specific situations in which God empowers us to wait well. Consider these as prompts for prayer and particular opportunities to seek greater patience in the strength he supplies (1 Peter 4:11).

Online Shaming Is Destroying Lives

For Ronson, the key is not only recognizing when the impulse to shame people becomes misplaced, but also embracing a community that engages ideas instead of attacking them. “The fact that we surround ourselves around people who feel the same way we do, that makes us more enraged when somebody transgressive comes along,” he says. “Maybe this is something that goes on in Christian communities as well. If you surround yourself with people who feel exactly the same way as you do, that’s kind of undemocratic. When somebody comes around that feels differently to the way you do, you’re more likely to tear them to pieces because you see them as so outlandish compared to the mutual approval machine of your Twitter followers or your church community.”

D.A. Dismisses All Bogus Charges Against David Daleiden for Exposing Planned Parenthood | LifeNews.com

“David Daleiden’s courage and fortitude to expose the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, should have been met with immediate investigation and prosecution of the baby parts profit-making scheme by the Harris County District Attorney. Yet, it was David instead of Planned Parenthood who took the heat for daring to show the nation what our tax dollars have been funding. Planned Parenthood needs to be held accountable for their horrendous business practices of betraying their clients and selling their babies piece-by-piece for profit. We need to get to the bottom of why rampant corruption occurred during the investigation in Harris County. The DA made a mockery of the office, colluded with an organization that should have had its employees arrested and charged for criminal conduct, and indicted a journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood.

Be Known for What You’re for, Not Just What You’re Against

Do Christians know what they actually are for? Can they articulate it in a graceful and non-judging way? Do they understand God's story and what he is actually trying to do? Can they communicate the positives of God's plan for sex, money, justice, marriage, humility, economics, etc.? Can they continue to watch the secularization of society and not fight against it but instead offer a new way full of life and hope and peace? Will their lives reflect theses truths or will it reflect compromise and hypocrisy?

Devils in the Church - R.C. Sproul Jr.

That craftiness is brought back to the fore for us when Paul speaks of the devil in 2 Corinthians 11:14 where he tells us the devil transforms himself into an angel of light. Well if he’s crafty, wouldn’t you think he would want us to forget to look for him as an angel of light? Don’t we tend to think that when the devil shows up, we recognize it because we’re finding ourselves overcome with some kind of desire, some sort of illicit desire. We think that when he begins to influence us we start to grow fangs, our eyes turn to fire, and our muscles grow Hulk-like. And then we pursue our madness like a bull in a china shop.

Being Real About Being Real

Father in heaven, I am so grateful for my Millennial brothers and sisters. Their earnestness to live real honors you and is a pointer to your existence — that there is such a thing as ultimate Reality. I pray that their “love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment” (Philippians 1:9). I pray that they will “know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge [and] be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:19). And I pray that they will ultimately experience more profoundly authentic community than they have imagined and that you will use this precious generation that’s as big as (or bigger than) the Baby Boomers to make an even bigger impact for the global glory of Jesus Christ and the completion of the Great Commission. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

4 Ways Christians Can Be Better with Their Money

I was apprehensive to click this article link, because I didn't want to open it to hear the, although true and valid - overdone list of tithing, giving, saving, and the over-usage of the word "stewardship"(lucky for you, it was only used once;) ) I think your list covers the most basic approach to getting on top of your finances, which is appreciated by those who are already overwhelmed by their debt. To be advised that I need to just give more and invest wisely in markets I know nothing about only causes me more hopelessness than when I started my journey to monetary security. What I gather from your article is that there are simple (if not easy) steps one can take NOW to getting above water with their money, and that sticking with it will develop a habit that makes these things easier and easier to accomplish. I think we can forget sometimes that the practical steps we take to being responsible with our funds is an act of worship, even when it's not tithing or being spent directly on ministry. Fiscal responsibility IS obedience to God, in whatever shape it takes. Thank you for sharing this article.

24 Daleiden’s Charges Dropped

Back in January, David Daleiden, the man behind the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood’s baby body parts scandal, was indicted for misdemeanor and felony charges. At the same time, a Grand Jury cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing, despite ample proof the organization knowingly violated the law by trafficking fetal body parts.

Reasons To Believe : How a Christian Worldview Influenced America’s Founding Fathers

The Christian notion of equality says that people are equal because (1) God made humanity in His image; and (2) He loved us enough to have sacrificed His Son for each of us. Rather than being based on abilities, appearance (race, ethnicity, sex), achievements, or social position, a person’s worth is inherent. We are equal simply because God values us equally. Human worth is God dependent and God ordained; human assessment is irrelevant. The founding fathers recognized this view of humanity in the Declaration of Independence’s famous opening statements :

26 Abandoning Scripture, Abandoning Faith and Morals

And Oliveto wasn’t finished. In perhaps her most telling admission, she warned against having too high a view of Scripture.  “The text, the Bible, is not God,” she said, adding that any true “biblical theology” covers both “the benefits and the flaws” of Scripture. As an example of a “flaw,” Oliveto decried the Bible’s “theology of election and chosenness,” such as the Jews being God’s chosen people, which she blamed for everything from colonialism, to slavery, to the “destruction of native cultures and religions,” to racism, and to the oppression of homosexuals.

Justice Is at the Heart of the Gospel

If the myriad of tragic events of the last few weeks has done anything for Americans, it's shown us the stark need for justice in the world. Why the Appearance of Design in Biology Is a Problem for Atheistic Naturalism

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

What is the Point of Apologetics?

What is the point of apologetics, especially philosophical apologetics? I think for too long, many Christians, when first exposed to apologetics, have too lofty of goals. First, they think that the goal ought to be to convert everyone, even the most hardened skeptic. The fact of the matter is, if someone doesn’t want to believe, then no matter what you do, they can always resist. Second, they think the “defensive goal” of apologetics ought to be to answer every objection beyond any shadow of a doubt. Since doubt is at least in part psychological (in large part, really), this too is much too unrealistic.

God and the Laws of Nature

Let us suppose the laws of nature are descriptive. That is, let us suppose that what we call the “laws of nature” are really more like law-like regularities that describe what we observe in the universe, and extrapolate to apply to all corners of it. These descriptions of how the universe operates are always up for revision inasmuch as they reflect our understanding of what goes on. But this raises the question: Why does the universe run according to these descriptions?

Christians Need to Recover the Lost Art of Patience

So how do we learn patience? Patience is about love and value. The more we love others, the easier it is to be patient with them. The more we value and respect someone, the longer it takes them to get on our nerves. What often makes us impatient is that the person we love the most, in many scenarios, is ourselves. The time we value most is our own. The dreams we care most about fulfilling are ours. Impatience comes because, especially as Christians, we care and think way too much about ourselves. A little humility, a little consideration and value for others would go a long way in building the foundation of our patience.

The Deep Roots of Our Hillary Hostility

“The history of American evangelicalism is critical in understanding how many things Clinton stands for that contradict the deeply held values of politically engaged evangelicals since the 1960s,” said Kristin Du Mez, a historian at Calvin College and the author of a forthcoming book about Hillary Clinton’s faith. “On so many issues, Hillary Clinton—her politics and the way her faith informs [them]—run against the values that the religious right has held dear. … There are very real religious and political differences here.”

The Apostle Thomas was Not a Doubter

As this passage clearly indicates, Thomas refused to believe. He didn’t doubt the resurrection; he rejected it entirely and claimed he would never believe without physically touching the risen Jesus. The adjective “doubting” misrepresents Thomas’ unbelief. Maybe we should call him “Skeptical Thomas” or “Incredulous Thomas.” Probably the most accurate title would be “Disbelieving Thomas.” But, of course, that doesn’t have the same flair as “Doubting Thomas.” Regardless, Thomas was not a doubter and we need to stop referring to him as one!

Bourne Again

As Jesus’s people, he gives us all that is his. We are heirs of the promise (Galatians 3:29). Whatever belongs to Jesus belongs to you and me. The universe belongs to Jesus, and now, it belongs to you and me. Jupiter belongs to you because of Jesus. The Hubble Telescope is itemizing your inheritance. “All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future — all are yours, and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s” (1 Corinthians 3:21–23). We are Christ’s, and we are co-heirs with him (Romans 8:17).

Yet Another Reason to Believe Our Finite Universe Points to the Existence of God

According to these theories, the expansion of the universe would eventually slow under the gravitational attraction of its own mass, resulting in matter flying past itself in close proximity as the universe contracted to a region of incredible concentration. The universe would then appear to “bounce back” from this gravitational cycle, beginning yet another period of expansion. This would therefore explain the expansion we observe in our universe without having to acknowledge this expansion as evidence of a universe with a single origination event (known as a cosmic singularity). Instead of a universe that is expanding from its single point of origin, oscillating models describe a universe that is cycling between expansion and contraction (we simply happen to exist in an expansion period for the universe).
