Planned Parenthood: How Much Longer?

Last year there was the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains reportedly awarded for exceeding their abortion quota. That is to say, in addition to other reports of such quotas, there was a certain number of abortions that the clinic was prescribed to perform and when they surpassed that number they were honored, all of which backfires against the language of abortions as safe, legal, and rare.

How Should Christians Comment Online?

The immediate, shoot-from-the-hip nature of comments on websites and social media is what can often make them minimally helpful or even destructive. Comments can easily be careless. That’s why we must heed Jesus’s warning: “on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak” (Matthew 12:36). This caution makes commenting serious business to God.

Christians Shouldn’t Be Culture’s Morality Police

'After being in relationship with Wilson for seven years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that don't believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I meant a spell caster called Dr Zuma zuk and I email him, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there.

Child’s Description Of Heaven During Near-Death Experience Specifically Mentions Book Deal

NEW YORK—Speaking for the first time since waking from a medically induced coma following a devastating car accident, 8-year-old Aiden Miller recounted an extremely vivid near-death experience Friday that reportedly contained detailed descriptions of heaven, angels, and a six-figure book deal. “I was walking up in the clouds and met friends, and strangers, and all these famous people who talked with me about all kinds of things and brought up the possibility of selling the rights to my story to a big-name publisher,” said the second-grader, who attested that during the five-minute period in which his heart had stopped on the operating table, he ascended to a shining, golden paradise where he says he met with the archangel Gabriel and a literary agent who has helped a number of authors secure multi-book deals with lucrative worldwide book tours. “Jesus was sitting at the right hand of God and my grandfather was right there, and they looked at me and smiled at each other and said I should ask for an $80,000 advance with 10 percent of back-end profits.” Miller added that he felt a profound sense of peace and well-being when Jesus told him to go forth and seek a blockbuster deal for the movie rights.

8 This Incredible Church Made from Live Trees Took Four Years to Build

“Tree Church” is exactly what it sounds like, and it looks incredible. Barry Cox has two great passions in life: trees and churches. For years, he traveled the world, studying the designs of church buildings and the architectural style behind them. He also loves trees so much that he runs a business that transports large trees to new locations so they don’t have to be chopped down. The New Zealander told Stuff.co.nz ,

9 Meanwhile, 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys Are Making a Western Movie

Not to be outdone by the likes of Zack Snyder at Comic-con, former members of ‘N Sync and the Backstreet Boys announced that they’re making a sure-fire blockbuster movie, too. And this future cash-cow has something to do with cowboys and zombies. Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is writing, directing and starring in Dead Seven , which Mashable describes as a “Western zombie movie.” Joining Carter are Backstreeter A.J. McLean and 'N Sync's Joey Fatone. Unsurprisingly, Carter is working with with the team behind Sharknado to execute his vision—so, yeah. Apparently, Carter and Fatone are the good guys, and McLean will play some kind of villain's apprentice. No word yet on how the zombies show up, but we can only hope that's where Justin Timberlake fits in to this whole equation. Oh, and of course, the film will air on SyFy Network.

10 The Spiritual Consequences of Selfie Culture

I once asked my ex gf to put her phone away during a romantic dinner out, at various other times she let it be a priority also. She still has dinners alone with her phone. On social media it's obvious how Christian she is but take away that facade and you don't see her love for others that should be her witness as a Christian. The lack of kindness, compassion, understanding, patience, mercy, respect, generousity and so on borders on cruelty and at times was abusive. Social media is a great tool for "Christians" to put up a facade but when challenged to treat a waitress kinder, to tithe, spend time present with me, she could not. It's OK if people thinks she is a dedicated Christian but what if God says "I don't know you and you don't know me" because they believed their own social media Christian lie? There are few people posting selfies praying in the hospital for the sick, giving their tithes, loving others as much as themselves. There are many feel good scriptures in nice typography though. A wolf in sheep's clothing, the heart of God is a mystery to them. They don't love themselves, others nor God.

Jesus Loves the Little Children

In the ancient world, it was uniquely the Jewish people who prohibited abortion and infanticide, the latter of which was not outlawed until Christianity took on a privileged place in the empire. Christians have always opposed killing children, whether infants outside the womb or infants inside the womb. The two were one and the same crime. “You shall not abort a child or commit infanticide,” commanded the D idache , a late first century church constitution of sorts. Despite the muddled arguments of progressive Christian groups and demoninations (whose obfuscation with language is positively Orwellian), opposition to abortion and infanticide is not simply one position for Christians, it is the Christian position.

15 Doubt Can Be a Good Thing

If you are uninterested in the Christian faith, may I recommend you take up epistemology, that philosophical branch which grants science the merit it has, the toolkit to operate, and even its ability to exist as an academic pursuit. You appear to pit philosophy and science against each other, as is a trend of the current and prior century; however this is an egregious and relativley new error. To be sure, biological observations, as a subset of science, pass through the study of epistemology (“how do we know that we know what we know”), as all of science is but a subset of philosophical inquiry, and all observations have to stand the test of philosophical and logical inquiry. When we forget that science, in the final analysis, is junior to philosophy and logic, and place science over and above philosophical and logical testing, and go even further as to say “philosophy doesn’t matter,” we end up with talented, brilliant minds making foolish assertions as you’ll see with folks like Richard Dawkins who though trained in the technicality of their fields are philosophically bankrupt and violate the very laws that allow them to practice science.

5 Reasons Why the Gospel of Jesus' Wife Is a Fake

The manuscript came to our attention on September 18, 2012, when King made the announcement. There was no hint of suspicion in her own assessment; indeed, two other scholars had encouraged her to consider it genuine. She claimed that it was probably a 4th-century manuscript, but that this Coptic translation went back to a Greek original from the 2nd century AD. This is the period when many other apocryphal writings were written in Greek.

The Shalom of Neurochemistry

Prior to becoming a counselor in a program that treats domestic violence offenders, I hadn’t thought much about oxytocin, the hormone often referred to as “the trust molecule.” It is a neurochemical often associated with the reproductive cycle, and its synthetic form, pitocin, is used to induce labor. Flooding the brain during sex, childbirth, and breastfeeding, it creates a sense of calm and security, promoting bonds in the family unit. Oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus, and it’s then released by the pituitary gland when we experience touch or intimacy. Most of us experience its impact throughout the day, triggered by a variety of human experiences.

Identity In Creation

The evidence is persuasive and the conclusion is clear: we tend to let the physical things of this world define us instead of Christ. But God won't give up on us in the midst of our stumbling. He'll continue to chase us down, sometimes taking away our possessions if necessary, so that our hearts will worship him alone. And a heart that worships God alone is a heart that finds rest, security, peace, and joy, regardless of the circumstances.

33 UNESCO Designates Jesus’ Baptism Site in Jordan as World Heritage Site

Jesus' baptism happened in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:13), but exactly where in the river is a long-running debate. Today, however, UNESCO designated an area on the east bank of the Jordan as a World Heritage site, saying it “is believed to be” the actual location of Jesus' baptism. There are tourist sites on both the east bank (located in Jordan) and the west (located in the Israeli-occupied, Palestinian-claimed west bank). Expectedly, the decision is popular in Jordan, but a Palestinian official said the west bank site should have been included. Experts say there is no archaeological evidence that the east bank was the true location, but many churches accept it as the authentic location. And UNESCO apparently agrees, too.

If you want to change your life, you have to change your thoughts. So that’s what Jeremiah did. The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope.”

Worriers 'R' Us

This emphasis on reason—and its array of seemingly infinite choices—promotes the idea that we must “use our own powers to discern” the one best choice. No wonder we worry so. Indeed, O’Gorman argues, “Worry is only possible in a world of choice. It’s even more possible when human beings think, in turn, that they have the capacity, let alone the right, to choose for themselves.”

In Bedbugs, Scientists Don’t See a Model of Evolution

There is nothing in this research either reminiscent or predictive of the evolution of increasingly complex “new forms” either wonderful or dreadful. Instead, what this research demonstrates is that bedbugs are still bedbugs, varying within their created kind to survive and thrive in a sin-cursed world. And those with the genetic equipment to resist the best we throw at them survive to bite—and reproduce—another day, much to our chagrin but not to our surprise.

What about Satan and the Origin of Evil?

In reality, we suffer death and the Curse because Adam sinned ( Genesis 3 ) and we sinned in Adam ( Hebrews 7:9–10 ), and we continue to sin ( Romans 5:12 ). Adam did his part, but we must take responsibility for our part in committing high treason against the Creator of the universe. It is faulty to think that death and suffering are the result of Satan’s rebellion. Man had dominion over the world, not Satan. When Satan rebelled, the world wasn’t cursed; when Adam sinned, the ground was cursed, death entered the world, and so on. This is why we needed a last Adam ( 1 Corinthians 15:45 ), not a last Eve or a last Satan. This is why Christ came. The good news is that for those in Christ, the punishment for sin (death) will have no sting ( 1 Corinthians 15:55 ).
