LGBT Activists to Protest Tranzformed Documentary About Freedom From Homosexuality | The Stream

LGBT activists are planning to protest a new documentary about men and women who have walked out of homosexuality or transgenderism and found freedom in Christ. The documentary, called Tranzformed: Finding Peace With Your God-Given Gender, will be screened at First Moore Baptist Church in Oklahoma on April 6. If the LGBT activists have anything to do with it, it won't be a success.

Fake Atheism: The Suppression of the Truth and the Atheist Syndrome - Kindle edition by Mike A Robinson. Religion & Spirituality Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

Aggressive atheism is attempting to make an impact in the West, and its opponent is God. Yet, a person who claims to be an atheist is suppressing the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). God’s word also reveals, “What can be known about God is plain to them” (Romans 1:19). Consequently, whenever nonbelievers try to deny God’s existence, the God who made them reveals that they actually know He exists. The fact that people know these things doesn’t mean that they will quickly acknowledge that truth. It usually takes ten minutes or more to have an atheist admit that he is really just an agnostic. Additionally, it is sometimes difficult to convince an agnostic or a hardened atheist that they know God exists—which is a truth that can help set them free. The inclination to suppress the truth in unrighteousness is to be taken very seriously. Some atheists will get very angry when you call their bluff, and some will fight to the bitter end to hold onto that which they know is false. Refuting the likes of Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Lawrence Krauss straight on, Mike Robinson reveals the fallacies in their approach, arguing that their irrational and emotional methodology reveals their foolishness and self-deception.

Mere Christianity - Kindle edition by C.S. Lewis. Religion & Spirituality Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

It is difficult to limit my excitement about this classic work by C.S. Lewis. I first read the book while in college and now I am taking several fellows through the book in a small group setting. It is a timeless classic that is as true today as when it was originally penned by Lewis as a series of talks given in London over the BBC during the challenging days of WW2. One must remember the historical setting when they read through the work. Because this is a compilation of a series of talks, Lewis did not assume that the people who heard his first series of lectures necessarily heard the lectures in the second series. As a result, one might think he is mildly repetitive. As you work through this great book take some time to digest the material in each chapter and reflect upon the material that Lewis covers and the thoroughness of his argument and perspectives. The book is a chronology of the thinking processes Lewis went through as his spiritual journey traveled from atheism and reluctantly to Theism and ultimately to Christianity. It is amazingly refreshing and valid for any reader.

Historical Bias, Objectivity, and the Truth of Christianity

Bias is probably the most popular objection to knowing history. It is claimed by some that historians are biased. It is not always clear what the objection is really getting at, but usually it is something like the historian holds certain views that in some way make his reporting subjective or unfair. For example, an historian may be writing about a religious issue and if he is part of that religion he is likely going to be accused of being biased. The disciples are often said to be biased regarding the events of the life of Jesus, particularly his resurrection. Since they knew him and had a vested interest they must have made up the claims of the resurrection.

My History Teacher Says 'The Gospels Are Unreliable'

But sometimes all this seems to go out the window. When it comes to talking about Jesus, your otherwise rigorous history teacher dismisses the Gospels in a moment. They say they can’t be trusted, they’re unreliable sources that tell us little about what really happened. If you have a teacher like this, you’ll know it can be frustrating, and difficult to challenge. What do you say?

Why Do So Many Christians Dismiss Apologetics?

I love apologetics. It’s fun to teach apologetics, discuss apologetics, and offer reasons for what I believe to non-Christians who ask. Yet, quite clearly, not all Christians share my enthusiasm. What is the Most Recent Manuscript Count for the New Testament?

Since we do not have the original New Testament writings (the autographa ), textual critics aim to determine the reliability of existing copies. For any particular work or collection of works, the greater the number and the earlier the dating of the manuscripts, the easier it is to reconstruct a text closer to the original and identify errors or discrepancies.

When Harry Became Sally: Review of the New Book on Transgender

This is the approach of Paul McHugh, Harvard-trained professor and chair of psychiatry at John Hopkins Medical School. At his direction, John Hopkins stopped performing sex change operations in 1979. Why? The answer is simple: The lack of medical evidence such operations brought positive health benefits to patients. Rather than following a cultural fad, or bending to political pressure, both Anderson and McHugh believe we should follow the scientific data and act in accordance to what brings genuine well-being to people with gender dysphoria.

What do pastors teach Christian women about relationships and marriage?

People wonder why men are not marrying as often as they used to. I think it has something to do with the fact that pastors are teaching women that husbands ought not be the leaders of their own homes. A Christian man will want his wife to be chief of staff in the home. She should be intelligent, accomplished and effective. Of course he will consult with her before making decisions on how to proceed. But men don’t marry unless we are going to be entrusted with that leadership role. Male leadership in marriage is non-negotiable. And that’s why women need to be wise about choosing the right man for that job – by relying on her mind, instead of on her feelings. Not everything a woman feels like doing is wise.

3 Syllogistic Arguments For Jesus' Deity

Yes I really do need, “Scripture and verse” as you put it. It, usually makes it so much easier to see the source of a particular understanding, and to judge if it is being portrayed in line with what I see too. In addition, it also serves to show when somebody is basing their words on their own philosophy rather than from the Scriptures. . You say that Adam was formed from the dust, and for that reason he had a different nature from Yeshua (Jesus) who was begotten. I do not think that this was the case. Both were brought into existence through YHVH’s actions and as such were created. Both were human beings made of flesh, and both had free will (see my comment on March 24, 2018). I would also say that Adam did not have a fallen nature, and that Yeshua (Jesus) had that same nature. The difference between Adam and Yeshua (Jesus) is that one decided to be obedient, and the other did not. Had, Adam not sinned, then there would not be a need for a Messiah and we would be in paradise right now. I do not believe that Adam had to sin – Yeshua (Jesus) has shown us this and through his example, we have the opportunity of eternal life (Romans 5:19).

If You Don't Like Abortion, Don't Have One | Cold Case Christianity

Sometimes pithy, brief statements like this are rhetorically powerful: “If you don’t like X, don’t do X. But don’t judge others who hold a different point of view related to X.” This kind of statement only makes sense if activity X is a matter of personal preference. “If you don’t like water skiing, don’t water ski.” Who could argue with that? But once we change the activity to something that is not a matter of personal preference, the statement starts to sound illogical. “If you don’t like the fact that 1+1=2, then don’t accept the claim that 1+1=2.” “If you don’t like insulin to cure your diabetes and prefer aspirin, then don’t use insulin and use aspirin instead.” See the problem?

John Perkins Has Hope for Racial Reconciliation. Do We?

What are those principles? With characteristic gentleness and prophetic verve, Perkins lays them out across nine main chapters, in addition to an introduction and epilogue. We must start by seeing and embracing God’s great vision for his church, biblical reconciliation. Unity and diversity are sown into both the very fabric of creation and the essential nature of the family of God (Chapter 1). Based on scriptural testimony and scientific evidence, we must accept that there is only one race, the human race that is bound together by one blood (Chapter 2). We must lament the brokenness of our past as a crucial part of our journey back this God’s vision for the church (Chapter 3). We must confess our sins, both individually and corporately (Chapter 4), and forgive one another by the power of the Holy Spirit (Chapter 5). We must practice repentance and tear down the walls separating us from one another (Chapter 6). And we must do this work with resolve and commitment, following the example of heroes who were willing to risk all for the cause of reconciliation (Chapter 7). We must pray, recognizing the reality of spiritual warfare and refusing to fight this fight with man-made solutions, which will only fail (Chapter 8).

You want to be a person with deep spiritual roots so that when recession comes and lasts several years, you’re able to keep bearing fruit. When the rough winds come and somebody in your family gets sick or a close friend dies, the trial doesn’t blow you away, because you’ve got roots.
