Answering Muslims: Pakistan: 14 Dead, Dozens Injured as Muslim Suicide Bombers Attack Churches

@ All Muslims, Be fear of Holy God! Almighty God never allowed criminal nations go unpunished. God’s wrath must fall on you Muslims who believe evil as god and worship him. You will die fighting each other. Killing 160 school children and teachers in recent months won’t be your last national tragedy unless Muslims in Pakistan rise up and fight against false terrorist teaching by the name of True and Holy God. We Christians believe, trust and worship True, Holy and Righteous God of Justice. You Muslims learn lesion from history. World history teaches God punishes evil and corrupt nations from beginning till today of human history. Don’t you see Muslims are fighting against Muslims and other nations hate them since Muhammad established Islam? Don’t you see Muhammad himself was punished before he died by poison? When will you realize the truth that Islam is cursed by God? Remember, after your death there will be no chance for correction. Remember, Christians live by words that come from our Heavenly Father not by word of evil Islam. Christians believe they do not die. See what the Bible says; Revelation 20: 4 ”... And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” See again what the Bible talks about False Prophet like Muhammad Revelation 20:10 “ And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Muslims come to sense and give up evil Prophet Muhammad and receive Jesus Christ to live with Him for ever and ever as the Bible promised. Unless you change it is granted Pakistan won’t be change and Pakistan would be slave of Evil, its soils would be red with innocent blood.

Dear Rob Bell: The Church Isn’t Giving an Inch on Gay Marriage

Bell implies that the culture has remained static for 2000 years and it is only now, with the “enlightened thinking” of the 21st century that the culture has had a dramatic change requiring the Church to do likewise. Didn’t Jesus say: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Wasn’t the Church to stand apart like a searchlight in the night sky of the culture? Apparently, that is irrelevant since it relies on crusty, old 2000 year old letters. People have always sought to change the gospel (often for personal gain) down through the centuries from 2nd Century adoptionism down present-day televangelists. Yet, the truth contained within those 2000 year old series of letters remains. The truth will always be suppressed as it was in First Century Rome, the 20th Century Soviet Union, or, increasingly, in today’s America. Yet, truth remains beneath the earth in such circumstances- germinating, awaiting the spring when it will burst forth in flowery fruition of great revival. But at the core of the issue, and I’ve always wondered this- why is it so very, very important to change the Church? If one views it as irrelevant, relying on crusty old documents, why even pay it any heed? After all, this is still America.

What Other World Religions Think About Jesus

People trying to discover the truth about God should take a hard look at Jesus before looking anywhere else. While that may sound like a bold assertion in and of itself, it really isn’t when you consider that every major religious movement considers Jesus to be an important religious figure. Every religion makes some effort to account for His existence and teaching. Even secular scholars are interested in the life of Jesus—for example, the recently debuted CNN series, Finding Jesus , explores the person of Jesus from a historical perspective.

Three key connections between knowing God and staying pure

The only way you can know God is by knowing his Son Jesus Christ. To know Jesus Christ is to know the one who provides forgiveness for our sin on his cross. Being forgiven is the most wonderful thing in the world. It means that all the things you have ever done will not be held against you because of the work of another.

Why our prep-school diplomats fail against Putin and ISIS

Of course, the insiders can’t accept so abhorrent a prospect as their own fallibility. So when new blood does enter — through those same “elite” institutions — it’s channeled into the same old calcium-clogged arteries. And we get generals with Ivy League Ph.D.s writing military doctrine that adheres cringingly to politically correct truisms and leaves out the very factors, such as the power of religion or ethnic hatred, that prove decisive. Or a usually astute commentator on Eastern European affairs who dismisses Vladimir Putin as a mere chinovnik, a petty bureaucrat, since Putin was only a lieutenant colonel in the KGB when the Soviet Union collapsed and didn’t go to a Swiss prep school like John Kerry.

The Integrity of Words and Our Confession of Faith

Sadly, the landscape is littered with theological institutions that have poorly taught and have been poorly led. Theological liberalism has destroyed scores of seminaries, divinity schools, and other institutions for the education of the ministry. Many of these schools are now extinct, even as the churches they served have been evacuated. Others linger on, committed to the mission of revising the Christian faith in order to make peace with the spirit of the age. These schools intentionally and boldly deny the pattern of sound words in order to devise new words for a new age — producing a new faith. As J. Gresham Machen rightly observed almost a century ago, we do not really face two rival versions of Christianity. We face Christianity on the one hand and, on the other hand, some other religion that selectively uses Christian words, but is not Christianity.

SAE and the Lynching Tree

Multiple viral YouTube videos show members of the Oklahoma University fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) chanting racist remarks about African-Americans. The videos show a young white male proudly smiling as he leads several members in this chant: “You can hang them from a tree but they’ll never sign with me; there will never be a nigger in SAE.” As this young man and several others joked and repeatedly sang these lyrics, they invoked several offensive racist images from this country’s troubled racist past. The young men used the kind of racist rhetoric that continues to affect this country’s tumultuous present on the race issue. Below, I mention these two images and I point to the hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Science and Culture, and a Tale of Two Cities

A couple was slouching ahead of me, a young man with his hand prominently grasping his young lady's rear end. They passed the entrance to a parking garage where a traffic cop was directing cars out onto the street. The youth turned to the officer and did a sort of obscene dance step in the cop's face, then kept walking. The cop looked at him and gave a half-grimace. The open disrespect, right in front of a crowd of people, made me feel ashamed for the policeman. The powerlessness of that facial expression...there was not a thing he could do about it.

Do-It-Yourself Church Unity

What do these scenes have in common? Among other things, this: While we wait for God to heal the fractured body of Christ, some of my friends and I are looking for concrete ways to express our confidence that God will one day do just that. The apostle Paul envisions a time when the church will “together . . . with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom. 15:6, esv). In small ways that sometimes seem ineffectual, my friends and I are looking to experience some foretaste of that moment. We’re trying to follow the advice of Baptist scholar Steven Harmon:

"The proposed bidding procedures and eventual sale make one thing abundantly clear: the Debtors’ strategy for this case is to benefit the insider entities by ensuring a quick sale to the insider Purchaser [Jackson]," states the committee's legal filing. "In the process, the insider First Lienholder [Jackson] will be made whole and unsecured creditors and other stakeholders will be left with nothing. To be sure, the Debtors are buying themselves back at a forced sale price and wiping out over $94 million of debt in the process."

The Absurdity of Life without God | Reasonable Faith

But it is important to see that it is not just immortality that man needs if life is to be meaningful. Mere duration of existence does not make that existence meaningful. If man and the universe could exist forever, but if there were no God, their existence would still have no ultimate significance. To illustrate: I once read a science-fiction story in which an astronaut was marooned on a barren chunk of rock lost in outer space. He had with him two vials: one containing poison and the other a potion that would make him live forever. Realizing his predicament, he gulped down the poison. But then to his horror, he discovered he had swallowed the wrong vial—he had drunk the potion for immortality. And that meant that he was cursed to exist forever—a meaningless, unending life. Now if God does not exist, our lives are just like that. They could go on and on and still be utterly without meaning. We could still ask of life, "So what?" So it is not just immortality man needs if life is to be ultimately significant; he needs God and immortality. And if God does not exist, then he has neither.

Memo to Supreme Court: State Marriage Laws Are Constitutional

There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that requires all 50 states to redefine marriage. The only way one can establish the unconstitutionality of man–woman marriage laws is to adopt a view of marriage that sees it as an essentially genderless, adult-centric institution and then declare that the Constitution requires that the states (re)define marriage in such a way. In other words, one needs to establish that the vision of marriage our law has long applied is wrong and that the Constitution requires a different vision. There is, however, no basis in the Constitution for reaching that conclusion. Marriage is based on the anthropological truth that men and women are distinct and complementary, the biological fact that reproduction depends on a man and a woman, and the social reality that children deserve a mother and a father, and states have constitutional authority to make marriage policy based on these truths.

More Thoughts on Google and "Trustworthiness"

If you read the paper, you find that their group is working on extracting "triples" of the form <Subject, Predicate, Object>. These simple structures are the basis for the facts the Google team wants to identify on the Web. To obtain these triples from source documents, you'd typically use something called "Named Entity Recognition" (NER). NER simply scans text for entities of certain types, like Person, or Country. The full triple extractor will thus use NER as a subroutine, to "bind" the arguments in the triple to appropriately typed objects extracted from the Web pages. So: match Subject to "Obama," Predicate to "president of," and Object to "United States," where Obama is an instance of Person, and United States is an instance of Country and the Predicate can either be stand-alone or a specialization of something like "leader of." None of this is very groundbreaking. There are huge databases that were developed to specify all the vocabulary and constraints on semantic structures like triples (cf.

Our Wedding Vows Are Always Covenantal. Why Aren't Our Marriages?

The contract model of marriage says, “If I’m getting what I want, I’m in.” In a covenant, we give ourselves to one another regardless of circumstance, for better or worse. It’s striking that our wedding vows are always covenantal. On this most romantic day, with our families and friends there to celebrate, we acknowledge that this could go badly. We could get sick or go broke. We could be miserable. But we aren’t going anywhere.

Why Bibi Will Lose, Yet Win (maybe)

Wait! The only potential stickler here is if Yachad, a new religious party that splintered from Shas, doesn’t get past the 4 seat threshold. In the polls, they are right on it. If they fall below they lose all their seats, Bibi’s loses those 4 partners. However, that 3.25% (4 seats) will be spread around to the other parties, based on their own results, giving at least 2 seats, most likely, to Bibi’s coalition—still keeping him at 62, with 1 seat to spare!

Undervaluing Pentecost (R.C. Sproul)

Then he goes on, “Therefore you’re no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”  This all happened, this fulfillment and unveiling of the mystery of Christ and the Gentles, the hope of glory, this all happened initially with the outpouring of the Spirit upon Jew, on Samaritan, on God-fearer, and on the Gentile.  And so my concern, as I said at the beginning with my Charismatic friends who put so much emphasis on Pentecost is that they have a low view of Pentecost because they see Pentecost as not being something that signaled an outpouring of God on all Christians.  Well they believe that all Christians can have it, all Christians should have it, and they labor to convince others, Christians, and they believe are believers but don’t have the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, though they have the zeal, they miss the point…that the pouring of the Spirit is to every Christian so that every Christian has been empowered by God.  If indeed you’re regenerated by the Holy Ghost, you have been gifted by the Holy Ghost.

Report: In 2008, then-Senator Obama sent emissary to Iran to undermine Bush

[…]For quite some time, former U.N. spokesman Richard Grenell has been warning that this is exactly what is coming down the pike. Last year Grenell wrote: “President Obama’s Geneva proposal to the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council allowing Iran to enrich some uranium violates previous UN resolutions demanding the Islamic Republic stop ‘all’ uranium enrichment activity. To avoid a violation of current UN resolutions, the permanent members must ask the entire Security Council to vote to weaken and supersede their previous demands.” He continued, “The UN’s four rounds of hard-fought sanctions on Iran and several other resolutions demanding compliance call for a full suspension of all enrichment activities, including research and development, then full verification of that suspension before negotiations on a permanent diplomatic solution begin. The sequencing was strategic. It was designed to build international confidence in a secretive country’s deceitful past.” But Obama deliberately departed from these restrictions, so he has always planned to go back. Otherwise, his deal would be in violation of existing international law.

‘Don’t fall away’: Schreiner discusses the biblical theology of Hebrews

TS: I think the main point which we find right away in Hebrews 1:3 is Jesus’ sacrifice cleansed me of my sins once for all. Why is that so?  Because he’s fully God and he’s fully man. The person who offers the sacrifice was fully God and fully man, therefore the sacrifice is sufficient and complete and definitive. I think that’s very comforting to me and to all Christians because we don’t need to go anywhere else, we must not go anywhere else to receive the forgiveness of sins and a cleansed conscience. So, I think that’s the main pastoral comfort in the letter. I think the other message of the letter that I find encouraging and helpful — that some people are scared by — is the warning passages. There is a kind of fear that is good, there’s a kind of fear that keeps us alert, so we don’t text while we’re driving, we pay attention to the road — that’s not a paralyzing fear, it’s a wise kind of fear. But the call not to fall away is a call to trust God. Trust God who sent his Son to cleanse us of our sins. Faith looks back to the sacrifice of Christ but faith also looks forward to the fulfillment of God’s promises.

Transgender Identity—Wishing Away God’s Design

Third, we should recommit ourselves to training our children. The bodily differences between men and women are real. They speak to differences in our makeup, specifically designed by our Creator. In practical form, we must teach these differences to our children. They must see that being a boy or a girl is a matter of God’s glory. There should be no shame in boys liking boyish things or in girls adopting girlish behaviors. Christians should encourage this kind of awareness. Many parents will find that their children genuinely enjoy being a boy or a girl, a future man or a future woman. We should regularly remind our kids that it was God who made them as they are. We should encourage them to embrace and assume manhood or womanhood.
