LEGO Batman Shows Off Wayne Manor in This 'Cribs' Style Spoof

The people behind the LEGO franchise are at it again with another hilarious teaser for The LEGO Batman Movie. Yesterday, Warner Bros. released a clip to promote the new and much anticipated movie the only way we could expect them to: with a special Batman parody of MTV’s Cribs. The clip, “Gotham Cribs,” displays some of the finest features of the Wayne Manor such as sky-high ceilings, an insane kitchen cooking up lobster thermidor and swimming pool with dolphins freely swimming about. Batman also takes a minute at the beginning of the tour to clear the air, “And yes, the rumors are true. I am Bruce Wayne … ’s roommate.” Take a look:

13 Signs Your Relationship Is Moving Way Too Fast

The truth is that no one ever regrets taking their time in a relationship. Don’t give in to instant gratification in your love life because instant gratification almost always leads to disappointment. Taking your time through the seasons of your relationship will set up your relationship to succeed. Each season reveals deeper levels of knowledge, intimacy and information about the person you’re dating moving you one step closer to marriage, or maybe one step back.

“Living as a Christian doesn’t happen in a vacuum. We live in the world, but not of the world. If you don’t use ‘real life’ situations to teach people how to live a Christian life, then you aren’t being a teacher. All teachers explain the rules then give you examples on how to apply those rules. The best examples are the ones people can understand because it relates to their life. Everyone watches the Super Bowl, so using it as an example to teach discernment is a good choice. It’s an example of knowing your audience” (Melissa Clarke).

NYT snubs top-selling book on abortionist Gosnell

It sold out in three days on Amazon and is the fourth bestselling hardcover nonfiction title in the country, but the New York Times did not include a new book about Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell on its best seller list to be published Sunday. According to Regnery Publishing, Gosnell: The Untold Story of America's Most Prolific Serial Killer, should be on the nonfiction list behind The Magnolia Story, which sold 10,000. Gosnell sold 7,644. The snub prompted the authors to claim that the story continues to be ignored by the mainstream media despite the public's hunger for it.

The Moral Argument for the Existence of God - Cross Examined - Christian Apologetic Ministry | Frank Turek | Christian Apologetics | Christian Apologetics Speakers

1. If God does not exist, objective moral values and duties do not exist. 2. Objective moral values and duties do exist. 3. Therefore, God exists. Premises 1 and 2 “What makes this argument so compelling is not only that it is logically airtight but also that people generally believe both premises. In a pluralistic age, people are afraid of imposing their values on someone else. So premise 1 seems correct to them. Moral values and duties are not objective realities (that is, valid and binding independent of human opinion) but are merely subjective opinions ingrained into us by biological evolution and social conditioning. At the same time, however, people do believe deeply that certain moral values and duties such as tolerance, open-mindedness, and love are objectively valid and binding. They think it’s objectively wrong to impose your values on someone else! So they’re deeply committed to premise 2 as well.” –WLC Read this two or three times until you fully understand what’s happening here. If you impose your moral values on someone else (admitting objective morals), you have committed yourself to Premise 2.

Craig Keener on Miracles

"Not only the Majority World today but also the history of Christianity, including in the West, is replete with supernaturalist claims.  The modern Western prejudice against acknowledging or exploring miracle claims rests not on a total lack of evidence for such claims, even in Western history, but on an a priori insistence that they be screened from consideration.  Yet such claims belong not only to earlier history or to non-Western cultures; countless examples can be offered today, including in the West." 1 Courage and Godspeed, Chad For those interested in learning more about this topic, you may want to checkout Keener's 2 volume set, Miracles: The Credibility of the New Testament Accounts . Imagining Bill Belichick analyzing film of the Left's strategy

4. Tacitus. Was this a famous coach or quarterback from a previous era? No. It turns out that Coach Belichick is an educated man. He went on to explain that Tacitus, a Roman historian, had spoken of a principle called “divide and conquer.” The Left knows that evangelicals, 26 percent of the U.S. population, pose the greatest threat to their game strategy. So the Left tries to run a spread offense, to get evangelicals running sideline-to-sideline. And getting evangelicals off their assignments is easy. Relying on misdirection, the Left simply finds a verse in the Bible that appears to support its agenda. Failing that, it finds a Christian — or someone who at least says he’s one — and quotes him liberally against other Christians.

God Knows What You Need in Worship

As a worship pastor, I feel acutely our need for the Holy Spirit’s work. After all, I am just one man and a sinner at that. I think to myself, “There is no way on earth that I could hope to minister to each individual need represented by all those people out there. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.” But God does. His Spirit is dwelling in each believer gathered every Sunday. So, we sing — to God and to each other — in order to be filled with his influence and changed by his truth. Thank God that this miraculous work is not left in the hands of mere men!

Investigating Bart Ehrman’s Top Ten Troublesome Bible Verses | Cold Case Christianity

While this list may seem large (and even surprising for those of us who haven’t examined the presence of textual variants in the New Testament), I think this list does little to impact the reliability of the text. In fact, I think Ehrman is profiting from the unfamiliarity that most Christians have with the presence of textual variants. The list does seem shocking and daunting if you’ve never taken the time to examine matters such as these. But if you stop and think about it and examine each verse listed here, the impact is actually very minimal. I recognize four truths about these verses:

No Global Mission Without God’s Mighty Spirit

At the end of the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:49) he called this “being clothed with power from on high.” There is a special fullness for the power of unusual joy and boldness in witness. I don’t know of any Christian who has walked in this unusual power of joy and boldness with no defeats in spiritual warfare. But every Christian should seek this fullness continually, and especially when opposition is great and we are tempted to shut our mouths in fear at the very moment we should be joyfully bold.

A Children’s Book About Homosexuality

Homosexual relationships of the sort portrayed in The Best Man are now normal in contemporary Western culture. For Bible-believing Christians, however, they remain something we can’t in good conscience affirm as morally good. But whereas many Christian parents will have lived through a cultural change on this, our children are growing up never having known any other world. We may be migrants to a gay-affirming culture, but they are natives. Many of them, in fact, may be more accustomed to some of these new dynamics than the generation raising them. It’s simply part of the cultural oxygen they breathe growing up today. How best to encourage our kids to navigate the new normal with faithfulness and grace is a responsibility for every Christian parent. It’s also quite a challenge.

There’s No Good Reason to Deny the Early Dating of the Gospels | Cold Case Christianity

The gospels also contain many descriptions of miracles. The philosophical naturalist must also deny the truthfulness of these supernatural accounts. Skeptics, therefore, date the gospel accounts very late, arguing that eyewitnesses to these events were already dead and unavailable to deny the claims. It turns out that the presupposition of philosophical naturalism is at work in the minds of those who would deny the early dating of the gospels. When this presuppositional bias is removed, the remaining evidence confirms that the gospels were written in the lifetimes of the eyewitnesses.

29 My Answer Is ‘Nothing’

I have already referred to “Toy Story” and “High Noon.” Let me finish by quoting arguably the greatest American film of them all, “The Godfather.” (By “The Godfather” I mean both Parts I and II, which I treat as a single film.) In response to an ultimatum from a Nevada official seeking a payoff, Michael Corleone says “You can have my answer now, if you like. My final offer is this: nothing.”

The Bible contains more than 300 prophecies about Jesus alone — all written a thousand years before he was born. The Bible prophesied about when he’d be born, where he’d be born, and how he’d be born. He couldn’t have manipulated his birth to fulfill those prophecies.

People criticize pro-lifers for focusing so much on abortion. But there’s a reason we do.

I have been pro-life for as long as I can remember. My family were not culture warriors: We never picketed, and I’m not sure we ever discussed the subject at home. My only memories of anything close to activism are of occasional appeals to our church to donate diapers to a local crisis pregnancy center. I was impressed by the urgency of the requests, which focused almost exclusively on the burdens disadvantaged single mothers faced and the opportunity we had to aid them. That somewhat idyllic approach impressed on me the vague but definite intuition that life in the womb was worth preserving and the woman who bore it worth supporting. This impression that being pro-life means supporting the people whose wombs bear life as much as the life itself has never left me.

Questions to ask before posting about politics on social media — Southern Equip

I would suggest that you read a wide range of resources on an issue before opining about it on social media. Read the most fact-based article that you can find on it. For example, Joe Carter posted a roundup of frequently asked questions about President Trump’s executive order on immigrants and refugees.Reading this type of article can help you get a grasp of the basic facts. Then, read several articles from more liberal publications and several that come from more conservative publications. Read The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The National Review. Look at the points each side makes and see how the other side answers them. Through this type of careful reading, you can gain a better grasp of the issue before you speak about it.

The Church Must Preach Christ

The church of the twenty-first century faces many crises. One of the most serious is the crisis of preaching. Widely diverse philosophies of preaching vie for acceptance among contemporary clergy. Some see the sermon as a fireside chat; others, as a stimulus for psychological health; still others, as a commentary on contemporary politics. But some still view the exposition of sacred Scripture as a necessary ingredient to the office of preaching. In light of these views, it is always helpful to go to the New Testament to seek or glean the method and message found in the biblical record of apostolic preaching.

Foster Care as the Way of Christ

Foster care means playing by the government’s rules, which requires a lot of flexibility. Are you ready to be told you can’t discuss the sexuality of a teenager in your care, or “force” the child to come to church with you? Are you ready to work with government agencies and workers who are burnt out? You may be the only evangelical they have ever met. You may be yelled at or mocked or derided by your state worker because they are having a bad day. Are you ready for visitations with birth parents who cannot be counted on to show up? People sign up to take care of children, but often end up spending a fair amount of emotional capital on the state workers and parents.

When the Case for God Is Strong, Skeptics Attack Christianity | Cold Case Christianity

I realize this is a somewhat extravagant and controversial claim. But, when Antony Flew , the famous atheist British philosopher and Oxford scholar, eventually changed his mind and became a deist, he did so based on the evidence of intelligent design. He died as a deist, convinced the evidence was clear. He found the case for God persuasive, but did not take the additional step to embrace a Christian view of God, saying, “While reason, mainly in the form of arguments to design, assures us that there is a God, there is no room either for any supernatural revelation of that God or for any transactions between that God and individual human beings.” His good friend, Christian apologist and historian, Gary Habermas , was unable to persuade him otherwise, but I can’t help but wonder where Flew might have ended up if he had become a deist at the age of 61, rather than the age of 81. Once an atheist determines the existence of God is reasonable, the move to Christianity requires an additional investigative step (I’ve written about this in Cold Case Christianity ).

Americans Agree: God Blesses Super Bowl Athletes, not Their Teams

Around an earlier Super Bowl, theologian William Lane Craig told CT how God’s providence rules all of life’s details, but not all rise to equal significance. “Christian virtues will be of overriding importance,” the Biola apologist said. “Lower in priority will be, for example, the number of wins that you get in a season or the number of passes you catch or complete.”

Why We Trust the Bible

God’s revelation: where would we be without it? In this series, Dr. Stephen Nichols explains that we would be lost if not for God’s Word, trapped in the darkness of sin forever. Rather than forsake us, God sent His Son, Jesus, revealing and recording His redemptive purposes in an inspired, inerrant, and authoritative source: the Bible. Sufficient for all of life, a crucial question arises: will we accept its authority?

Was Jesus a Christian Hedonist?

And then, to underline this, he warned us against a kind of self-pity when we make sacrifices for him. I remember when I first saw this years ago where he had just got done sending the rich young ruler away and said how hard it is to enter the kingdom of heaven. And Peter pipes up and says, “See, we have left everything and followed you” (Mark 10:28). In other words, we have made some sacrifices here, Jesus. We are not in that category. And Jesus’s response to him is amazing. And I wish I could hear his tone of voice, you know, like, “Come on, Peter!” I am not sure about his tone of voice, but here is what he said. “Jesus said, ‘Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life’” (Mark 10:29–30).

49 The battle lines are drawn in the White House between religious liberty and LGBT rights

Pray for President Trump. There are things unfolding right now that will determine the future of religious liberty in this country. Will the trajectory be to continue what President Obama started? Or will there be protections for those citizens who cannot consent to the totalizing claims of the sexual revolution? The contest is unfolding right now in the White House, and we will know the answer to those questions in the very near future.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner worked to sink LGBT order

But the statement did not quash the chatter completely. Members of the religious right with ties to the Trump administration said they have been lead to believe that some changes will still be coming. “I think they’re going to address the conflict that exists currently, which would preclude religious organizations from contracting with the federal government,” Tony Perkins, CEO of the Family Research Council, said in an interview. “I feel confident that they have an appreciation of religious freedom, and I’m pretty certain they’re going to address it. I’m talking to people in the Trump administration, and I know they understand the importance of this.”
