Jimmy Fallon's "Puppy Predictor" Determines Super Bowl Winner

Last night on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon released an army of puppies to determine who would win this year’s Super Bowl. Oddly enough, this wasn’t the first time Fallon used his “Puppy Predictions” segment to decide the winner. In years past, The Tonight Show host has attempted to predict the winners of The Final Four, The Kentucky Derby and even the Oscars. So what did the little dogs have to say about this year’s football extravaganza? According to the little furballs the Atlanta Falcons would be taking home the Super Bowl LI trophy. Obviously, we have to wait until Sunday to know for sure if the cute little pups were right or not. Regardless of whichever team you find yourself cheering for, we should all be able to agree that puppies are the real winner here. Just look at how cute they are:

Everyone Loves Sex. So Why Wait?

A century ago, young people courted and married in their late teens. This took care of that hormone thing. The culture we live in, with getting through college, trade school, or being financially able to support a spouse, marriage has been more and more delayed. In my faith, we also send our young off to college in hopes that they will find a life partner before graduating, this puts and incredible stress on young people. Imagining Bill Belichick analyzing film of the Left's strategy

4. Tacitus. Was this a famous coach or quarterback from a previous era? No. It turns out that Coach Belichick is an educated man. He went on to explain that Tacitus, a Roman historian, had spoken of a principle called “divide and conquer.” The Left knows that evangelicals, 26 percent of the U.S. population, pose the greatest threat to their game strategy. So the Left tries to run a spread offense, to get evangelicals running sideline-to-sideline. And getting evangelicals off their assignments is easy. Relying on misdirection, the Left simply finds a verse in the Bible that appears to support its agenda. Failing that, it finds a Christian — or someone who at least says he’s one — and quotes him liberally against other Christians.

Questions to ask before posting about politics on social media — Southern Equip

I would suggest that you read a wide range of resources on an issue before opining about it on social media. Read the most fact-based article that you can find on it. For example, Joe Carter posted a roundup of frequently asked questions about President Trump’s executive order on immigrants and refugees.Reading this type of article can help you get a grasp of the basic facts. Then, read several articles from more liberal publications and several that come from more conservative publications. Read The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The National Review. Look at the points each side makes and see how the other side answers them. Through this type of careful reading, you can gain a better grasp of the issue before you speak about it.

Craig Keener on Miracles

"Not only the Majority World today but also the history of Christianity, including in the West, is replete with supernaturalist claims.  The modern Western prejudice against acknowledging or exploring miracle claims rests not on a total lack of evidence for such claims, even in Western history, but on an a priori insistence that they be screened from consideration.  Yet such claims belong not only to earlier history or to non-Western cultures; countless examples can be offered today, including in the West." 1 Courage and Godspeed, Chad For those interested in learning more about this topic, you may want to checkout Keener's 2 volume set, Miracles: The Credibility of the New Testament Accounts . The Church Must Preach Christ

The church of the twenty-first century faces many crises. One of the most serious is the crisis of preaching. Widely diverse philosophies of preaching vie for acceptance among contemporary clergy. Some see the sermon as a fireside chat; others, as a stimulus for psychological health; still others, as a commentary on contemporary politics. But some still view the exposition of sacred Scripture as a necessary ingredient to the office of preaching. In light of these views, it is always helpful to go to the New Testament to seek or glean the method and message found in the biblical record of apostolic preaching.

Foster Care as the Way of Christ

Foster care means playing by the government’s rules, which requires a lot of flexibility. Are you ready to be told you can’t discuss the sexuality of a teenager in your care, or “force” the child to come to church with you? Are you ready to work with government agencies and workers who are burnt out? You may be the only evangelical they have ever met. You may be yelled at or mocked or derided by your state worker because they are having a bad day. Are you ready for visitations with birth parents who cannot be counted on to show up? People sign up to take care of children, but often end up spending a fair amount of emotional capital on the state workers and parents.

When the Case for God Is Strong, Skeptics Attack Christianity | Cold Case Christianity

I realize this is a somewhat extravagant and controversial claim. But, when Antony Flew , the famous atheist British philosopher and Oxford scholar, eventually changed his mind and became a deist, he did so based on the evidence of intelligent design. He died as a deist, convinced the evidence was clear. He found the case for God persuasive, but did not take the additional step to embrace a Christian view of God, saying, “While reason, mainly in the form of arguments to design, assures us that there is a God, there is no room either for any supernatural revelation of that God or for any transactions between that God and individual human beings.” His good friend, Christian apologist and historian, Gary Habermas , was unable to persuade him otherwise, but I can’t help but wonder where Flew might have ended up if he had become a deist at the age of 61, rather than the age of 81. Once an atheist determines the existence of God is reasonable, the move to Christianity requires an additional investigative step (I’ve written about this in Cold Case Christianity ).

Renewing Your Mind | From Vanity to Doubting Castle | Feb 3, 2017

Though there are often points of similarity between the experiences and struggles of believers, each person engages certain spiritual realities differently. For instance, Christian and his other family members spent time in Vanity and visited Doubting Castle; they covered the same ground but were called to act differently and face distinct challenges. In this message we will observe what happened to Christiana and the boys in these places, taking note of Bunyan's rich theology of spiritual warfare.

Why We Trust the Bible

God’s revelation: where would we be without it? In this series, Dr. Stephen Nichols explains that we would be lost if not for God’s Word, trapped in the darkness of sin forever. Rather than forsake us, God sent His Son, Jesus, revealing and recording His redemptive purposes in an inspired, inerrant, and authoritative source: the Bible. Sufficient for all of life, a crucial question arises: will we accept its authority?

Was Jesus a Christian Hedonist?

And then, to underline this, he warned us against a kind of self-pity when we make sacrifices for him. I remember when I first saw this years ago where he had just got done sending the rich young ruler away and said how hard it is to enter the kingdom of heaven. And Peter pipes up and says, “See, we have left everything and followed you” (Mark 10:28). In other words, we have made some sacrifices here, Jesus. We are not in that category. And Jesus’s response to him is amazing. And I wish I could hear his tone of voice, you know, like, “Come on, Peter!” I am not sure about his tone of voice, but here is what he said. “Jesus said, ‘Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life’” (Mark 10:29–30).

The battle lines are drawn in the White House between religious liberty and LGBT rights

Pray for President Trump. There are things unfolding right now that will determine the future of religious liberty in this country. Will the trajectory be to continue what President Obama started? I’m talking to people in the Trump administration, and I know they understand the importance of this.”

Here's Why So Many of Your Relationships Are Failing

These moments falsely reassure us that we’re right and the other person is wrong. Satan uses our hurt feelings as a platform for sinning against others causing more rifts in our relationship. Pastor Rick Warren put it best: “He whispers in our ear and gives us little thoughts, suggestions, and ideas. When you’re in the middle of an argument, he starts whispering things in your ear, like ‘You don’t have to take this kind of stuff. Retaliate. Who do they think they are? Get even. Assert yourself. Don’t put up with this kind of stuff. Show ‘em who’s boss.’ He tells you all the things your pride would love to hear.”

Evangelism Needs to Become More Intellectual

I agree that it is important to communicate clearly. Part of that is to help parishioners by approaching take complex ideas and breaking them up in such a way that they can be apprehended by most of the congregation. However, I fear that the drive to "put the cookies on the lower shelf" has been over emphasized. I've seen many Bible teachers who are afraid of being "too intellectual" or presenting difficult concepts because their congregants may not "get it." As a result, much of the preaching on Sunday mornings have been dumbed-down from what the average church goer would have experienced a century or two ago.

Stealing From God (paperback)

FANTASTIC! This book takes the tiger by the tail and calls those that rant against Christianity to the carpet, with THE EVIDENCE, THE TRUTH, and breaks down EXACTLY what they "stand" for and against, and what is shown in this book, they have NOTHING to stand on. EVERY CHRISTIAN should know the facts and tactics, atheists use against Christianity, and with that knowledge, the atheist sand castle can't possibly stand. Thank you, Frank for all the effort and research to put this book together. It compels me to know Hiis Word and their tactics, and now I feel MUCH more equipped, and confident when I encounter and engage, an atheist, not to rant back at them, but to present real truth, to help them think and prayerfully find who it is they rage against, and truly find Jesus.

What the Bible Says About How to Treat Refugees

All of this is taken out of context. I was wondering if a muslim wrote this article? What you are saying here is bring in all the muslims and let them kill you! These aren't refugees. These are killers. People don't let articles like this sway you! Islam is false prophets, false doctrines,.Persecution against Christians is real and it’s growing stronger by the day. Christians are being crucified, beheaded, and imprisoned for simply believing in Jesus Christ. This persecution seldom makes major news headlines, but a simple investigation will reveal this demonic vendetta is real. The persecution against Christians is demonic in nature. Demons are real entities and are pure evil. They are Satan’s minions who have the ability to possess the people who invite them in. It’s a spiritual war and Christians should be on the forefront of the battle against the wickedness of this world, but it seems as if many of us don’t recognize the spiritual battle we face. Give no place to the devil.

God, The Beginning and the Big Bang: 10 Quick Points [Updated]

2)      The universe is expanding and hence becoming less dense. This means that in the past it  was much more dense.  If we extrapolate back far enough, we reach a state when the universe was extremely dense and hot and finally a state of infinite density where the theory of general relativity breaks down (a state known as a singularity). The big bang theory describes the expansion of the universe from this early hot, dense phase. According the standard account , not just energy, but space and time came into existence at the singularity.
