Steve Irwin’s Son Visited ‘The Tonight Show’ and Totally Captured His Dad’s Passion

This week, 13-year-old Robert Irwin visited The Tonight Show (along with some of his cool animal friends), and he brought the same energy that made his late father Steve Irwin “The Crocodile Hunter” so beloved. It’s pretty cool to watch. Here’s the clip:

Be Strong and Courageous in Jesus

Here’s the Prison Beauty School That’s Changing the Lives of Inmates

Valley State Prison in California offers a seemingly unlikely program that has been changing the lives of inmates for more than two decades: A beauty school. As this behind-the-scenes video shows, inmates are not only equipped with new social connections, but also have the opportunity to learn a skill and profession that can help them get back on their feet once they get out.

Apologetics and the 80/20 Rule

What transpired was a deeper journey into apologetics and many hours spent learning (and continuing to learn) a defence for the Christian faith. Was I the only one in this predicament? Had everyone at church secretly known about the study of apologetics all along and I was somehow left out? I think not. I think my story is similar to what happens to many Christians today when they discover that apologetics even exists.

3 Commitments All Healthy Couples Make

Most of us come into marriage with hang ups around the idea of meeting one another’s needs. As social beings made in the image of a relational God, we were designed to have our needs met in the context of safe, loving connections with Him and others. The marriage covenant is specifically designed to be a lifelong partnership in which we fulfill this design. Unfortunately, as citizens of this broken world, we all experience varying degrees of lack in getting our needs met, which leaves us with some level of “orphan” thinking in this area. An orphan mentality basically says: I can’t trust others to meet my needs. Therefore, I must meet my own needs or manipulate others to meet them or I can’t afford to meet the needs of others unless it immediately meets my needs in some way.

Survey: 76% of ‘White Evangelical Protestants’ Agree With the President’s Refugee Ban

Race and age factor heavily into people’s perspective on the ban. About 84 percent of black respondents disapprove of the ban, 79 percent of Hispanics and 50 percent of whites. By age group, younger Americans most consistently disapprove of the executive order (76 percent among ages 18 to 29), but even the oldest group polled opposes the ban by a majority. It seems race and age are factors, but still most people disapprove of the policy.

Resurrection of Jesus Christ Biblical Extra-biblical Evidences

The Bible is the Word of God, so it is accurate in all it affirms. Since it tells us Jesus rose from the dead, we can have complete confidence that He did. What many people fail to recognize is that even when we use the critics’ and skeptics’ own criteria, the most reasonable conclusion is the same: Jesus rose from the dead. That is, even if we did not presume biblical authority and treated the New Testament as unbelieving historians do, the bodily Resurrection of Jesus is the only explanation that matches all the accepted facts. One point will become rather obvious throughout this study: these people simply have an anti-supernatural bias, or more accurately, an anti-Christian bias. Thus, they have developed absurd positions in efforts to explain away the only reasonable conclusion that can be derived from the facts. So what are these facts?

It’s a Wonderful Time to Be Christian

Black brothers and sisters , I encourage you toward a resilient faith. Many of your forefathers endured oppression, were denied membership in white churches, and grew despite a lack of access to theological education. We need to see that resilience now. Systems of injustice will not be corrected overnight, which means that testing will continue. But as tests come, please ensure that your hearts are being purified and not petrified. White Christians are not your enemy. Jesus says they are family. The Lord calls us to “hope” all things, including the best in fellow believers, even when we hurt, confuse, or disappoint each other.

5 Myths Keeping Christians From Caring for Prisoners

Hello to you all,i want to use this time to thank Dr. Trust for what he has done for me last week here ,my names are Isabella Molly Wyatt from Australia,i wanna tell you that me and my husband were together for three years without any trouble nor quarrel, we gave birth to a daughter during this three years and we were good until my husband started having affairs with his co-worker and then him started staying away from home all night and days and he was no longer the man i use to know, him later filed for divorce and ask me and my daughter to go out of his life , at this time i was carrying another child inside of me and now i was so frustrated and was in pains i tried telling him what him was doing was not right , but him wouldn't listen to any body,so i went to my mum house with my child and one day as i was browsing i came a cross a story about this Dr.Trust how he help a lady called Kimberly and i was touched with the story because it was almost same as mine, so i decided to contact him for help at first i was so so scared because many other spell casters that i have tried earlier took me for fool and went away with my money, but due to the line of the story i read about him and gave him my last try with faith and i told him all that has happened.

Why Aren't More Christians Actually More 'Christ-like'?

In America, there’s a lot of talk about being a “Christian nation.” Typically the people who are the most concerned with viewing the nation as Christian are the same people who don’t believe it’s the government’s job to take care of the poor. And while I don’t believe that a nation can even be Christian, I’m often left scratching my head at what the words “Christian nation” mean to these people.

Why the Historical Jesus is the Best Starting Place for Apologetics

In its simplest form, this argument is claiming that Jesus was a real man, and was not a myth as some atheists claim.  This claim is often paired with the claim that the Jesus of the Bible and the Jesus of history are the same person, not just in reference but in fact, historicity, and substance.  The more substantive form of the argument aims to eventually bring the unbeliever to a point of belief in the Christian faith.  The progression I recommend is as follows:

The House Voted to More Easily Allow States to Defund Planned Parenthood

Right as now-former president Barack Obama left office, he signed a bill that wrapped up Planned Parenthood’s funding in Title IX legistlation, essentially keeping states from removing public family planning funds on the grounds of abortion. At the time, 13 states had defunded Planned Parenthood by keeping Title IX funds from going to the organization, which is the nation’s largest provider of on-demand abortions by far. Obama amended Title IX to take away state’s ability to do that.

Don't Let Your Emotions Control Your Life

Emotional intelligence is not just a general sense of niceness or being agreeable, which also get mistaken for being Christ-like. Pleasantness doesn’t make anyone holier or healthier. Taking steps toward health and becoming emotionally intelligent benefits everyone. Suppressing your thoughts or biting your tongue may seem like an acceptable short-term solution, but ultimately it will not work. Loneliness and resentment will creep in over time. You are meant to belong to a community and to be an active member who shares and takes part, not a passive observer. Bring your whole, healthiest self when you show up.

Are You on the Right Side of History?

Only justified Christians can seek true social justice without contorting it to keep themselves safe from judgment on their own sin. When we aim at social justice, we’re not squinting to shut out the sin that reaches up from our own hearts. Instead, we’re safe in the gospel of Jesus Christ to pursue true justice without calling down that justice on our own selves.

Jumpstart Your Heart in Worship

Like any good gift from above, music — even church music — can become an idol if we cherish the gift more than the Giver. But the beauty of God’s gifts is that they point us beyond the gifts themselves to God’s glorious mercy and grace for sinners. Our songs should stir our hearts to worship in all seasons of life, just as the Psalms so beautifully express.

It is Outrageous for the Government to Force Christians to Violate Their Faith | The Stream

I have an honest question based on my desire to effectively discuss this issue with people who are on the other side of it from me. The title of the article reads, “It is Outrageous for the Government to Force Christians to Violate Their Faith”. I agree! And I really appreciate this article. My question is though, what about religions that allow for polygamy? Did the government not force the Mormons to abandon polygamy against their faith? As an evangelical Christian I have no problem with that prohibition based on my understanding of marriage. Can they prohibition forced upon them be included in the outrage of what’s happening with florists and bakers etc today? I know this is not an issue of service to a customer, but does it fall into the category of a religious belief being trampled?

The Gospel of Chance the Rapper

Both the new believer and lifelong followers of Jesus can share the good news of Jesus Christ by sharing their story—including the times in life they ran from God. Too often, it is our tendency to try to tidy up our stories when sharing our faith; it is a vain attempt to show others a cleaned-up portrait of Christianity that simply isn’t true. The way Chance uses reminds us of the value of sharing our stories, telling others the ways in which we have hidden from God, and how we came to embrace “ faith of pumpkin seed-size mustard seed .”

Jews Come Home to Jesus

But neither Jesus nor his apostles taught that this priority meant Israel would be rescued from judgment in spite of turning away from Jesus. Jesus did not come as one among many ways to God. He came as the true and only Jewish Messiah and Mediator between God and man. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). And he taught plainly that to reject him was to reject God. Accepting him was the litmus test of whether anyone’s claim to know God was real. For example, he said,

God Is Working in Your Waiting

Most parents would agree that their children don’t want to wait for anything. The last thing kids want to hear is Mom say, “Not now.” It can prompt anger, frustration, even hopelessness. This “dis-ease” of waiting follows most of us into our adult years. We may not respond with the same emotional outbursts as children, but most of us still hate waiting for what we want.

2/18/17

It’s not what you don’t know that is the always the problem; the problem is often what you think you know that really ain’t so! You don’t think you need apologetics? Well, guess what people are thinking when they hear you’re a Christian: 1. Christians are intolerant hypocrites! 2. Faith is all about believing what you know ain’t true. Faith is blind. 3. The Bible is full of contradictions. 4. Christianity is the religion of No: Don’t do this, don’t do that. No Fun! 5. Christianity is just to keep people in line... ...and the list goes on. Make sure you listen to this podcast and learn how apologetics can help us be better evangelists!

39 Renewing Your Mind | The Role of Man and Woman | Feb 20, 2017

In an age when the women's liberation movement has reached all corners of society, the concept of a woman submitting to the authority of a man finds disdain. Now, more often than not, there is misunderstanding of the roles men and women have in marriage. Dr. Sproul looks at the issue in this message entitled "The Role of Man and Woman."

40
Can We Ever See God or Not?

So, there you have both sides of the issue. And the solution to this seeming inconsistency lies in the fact that the word “see” as we all know has several different uses. And if you look at all of the texts, you see there is one of them. You see that there are two different senses in which his people can see God and two senses in which they cannot see God. So, let me break these out and see if people can follow me. See if they can see.

You Don't Have to Be Rich to Give

A woman in one of our stewardship classes treated herself to a dinner at a moderately-priced restaurant every couple of weeks. After reviewing her receipts, she realized that she usually ordered a glass of wine, which she enjoyed but didn’t feel she needed. Because she sought to increase her giving, she decided to forego the wine; she took the money she would have spent on a glass at the restaurant and instead put it into a glass jar at home. Within a few months, she had accumulated a hundred dollars, along with the newfound freedom to give it away.

So what’s your one thing? What one discipline do you need to start so that you can write the story God wants you to write? Maybe you know you need to grow spiritually. Don’t just think about it and feel bad about it. Do something about it. Perhaps you will commit to worship at church every week. Or maybe you’ll decide to read through the Bible every year. Or you might join a small group or start serving in your church or start volunteering with a local missions group.

Being So Stressed Out Might Be Killing You

I now have new perspective. Harming ourselves in this way is a kind of false humility we use to garner the world’s approval. But deep down all it really is, is pride. I believe God wants us to take care of our bodies. Our bodies are His temple and the more we take care of them, the healthier we will be to do His work. And yet so often as missionaries our bodies come in last. The result of this is that many are developing things like adrenal fatigue which can speed up how stress degrades things like your cardiovascular health, digestive system and your cellular regeneration.

http://pastorrick.com/devotional/english/steps-to-effective-bible-study-(part-2)1

Apply God’s Word. You move from the “what” to the “so what” and do what the Bible says. The ultimate goal of all Bible study is application. In other words, how will this Scripture change my life? We never settle for understanding alone. We want to apply the biblical principles to our daily living. All of our Bible study efforts really don’t have any value if, in the final analysis, we don’t become more like Christ. In fact, you only believe the part of the Bible you apply. Do you believe in sharing Christ with others? Do you believe in tithing? Do you do those activities? If you don’t do them, then you don’t really believe what the Bible teaches about them. The problem that most of us have with the Bible isn’t what we don’t understand; it’s applying what we do understand!
